As a Strayer student, you have access to no-cost gen ed courses through our affiliate, Sophia Learning. Take up to two online Sophia courses at a time, then apply them toward your undergraduate degree.

Cost $1,480 per course $0 when enrolled at Strayer
Financial aid Complete at least two courses at Strayer to qualify to use financial aid that quarter. Courses do not count toward financial aid eligibility.
Graduation Fund Every three courses completed earns one Graduation Fund award, for a course on us, to be redeemed at the end of your program. Courses do not earn Graduation Fund awards.
Enrollment requirements You must complete at least two Strayer courses per term to maintain full-time student status. There are no requirements. All courses are eligible for transfer to Strayer.
Support Support includes faculty, your dean, your coach and the Strayer community. You’ll get your very own learning coach.
Course types All program requirements are available – general education, major, minor, electives and honors courses. Primarily general education and elective courses are available.
Course style Get instructor-led, online courses with weekly assignments due Sunday, by midnight. Get self-paced, online courses.
Start dates With quarterly start dates, you can choose which is best for you. Start your courses anytime.

Help control your cost with scholarships

At Strayer, we work hard to offer a variety of scholarships – so you can make the most of savings on your degree and control costs. We’re here to help you understand what you may be able to save.

Do you know a Strayer student, graduate or faculty member? Ask them about our Referral Scholarship. If you register for an eligible Strayer program, meet all eligibility requirements and maintain good academic standing, a referral can save you $500 on tuition.

*Student is required to take two courses per quarter during disbursement period. Eligibility rules and restrictions apply.

  • You are a new student registering for the winter, spring, summer or fall 2022 quarter in a Strayer University degree program. You are not enrolling in a Devmountain, Hackbright, Degrees@Work, VerizonOnsite or Jack Welch Management Institute program.
  • You must be referred by a Strayer University student or alumni.
  • You must complete at least one course in your first quarter enrolled in the graduate degree program for the disbursement schedule to start in your second quarter of enrollment. If you do not meet this requirement, the offer will be revoked.
  • This offer applies to tuition only. Technology fee, final academic requirement fee, books, any course materials and non-obligatory fees must be paid by a separate method of payment.
  • Once eligibility is confirmed, the offer will be applied to your account in one disbursement of $500 during your second quarter of enrollment. If you do not register for or drop all courses during a quarter where the scholarship is disbursed, you forfeit the disbursement for that quarter.
  • This offer may be combined with corporate alliance/national account discounts.
  • This offer may be combined with the Graduation Fund.
  • This offer cannot be combined with other Strayer sponsored 50% off discounts, tuition assistance aligned pricing (TAAP) discounts or scholarships.
  • You meet Strayer University admission requirements.
  • Neither you, an immediate family member of yours, nor household member of yours are currently employed by the university, the university’s parent company, or any other subsidiary of the parent company (Strategic Education, Inc.).
  • You will be held to any academic consequences of withdrawing from or failing any course.
  • You must maintain good academic standing (2.0 or greater for undergraduate programs, 2.5 or greater for graduate programs) to be eligible for the disbursement. If you fail to maintain good academic standing, the scholarship disbursement will be forfeited.
  • If you choose to change to an ineligible program, discontinue or withdraw (either actively or administratively) from Strayer, you will become ineligible for this offer.
  • If you drop or withdraw from a course, you will be responsible for any fees associated with change in enrollment status for that quarter.
  • If you take three or more consecutive quarters off, you will forfeit any remaining disbursements and any benefits associated.
  • Under no circumstance will recipients be eligible for a refund, cash payment or any other compensation for the value of unused funds from the offer.
  • If your tuition is billed to an employer or sponsor, the offer is applied first to tuition charges and then the sponsor is billed the net tuition amount (to the extent tuition benefits are available).
  • In all cases, the offer is at Strayer University’s discretion.

Eligibility requirements

  • You are a new or readmit student registering for the summer 2022 or fall 2022 quarter in a Strayer University bachelor’s degree program. You are not enrolling in a certificate, associate, graduate, Devmountain or Hackbright program, a Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI), Degrees@Work or VerizonOnsite program.
  • You are transferring in at least 18 quarter credits into your Strayer University bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by a US Department of Education-recognized institutional accreditor or the American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE® Credit), this includes previously earned Strayer coursework and Sophia Learning. 
  • You must take two or more courses per quarter during the disbursement period to be eligible for the offer.
  • You understand this offer applies to tuition only. Technology fee, final academic requirement evaluation fee, books, any course materials and non-obligatory fees must be paid by a separate method of payment.
  • The offer will be disbursed in $1,000 increments equally for five consecutive quarters of enrollment after eligibility is confirmed. 
  • You understand the deadline to confirm eligibility, which means we have an official transcript on record showing 18+ transfer credits, is based on your start date. If confirmation is not received by this deadline, the offer will be revoked. 
  • If you start in summer 2022 quarter:
    • If eligibility is confirmed by Monday, July 4, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be applied to your account for five consecutive disbursements of $1,000 each during the summer 2022, fall 2022, winter 2023, spring 2023, and summer 2023 quarters.
    • If eligibility is confirmed between Tuesday, July 5, 2022–Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be applied to your account for five consecutive disbursements of $1,000 each during the fall 2022, winter 2023, spring 2023, summer 2023, and fall 2023 quarters.
    • If eligibility is confirmed between Monday, Oct. 3, 2022–Monday, Jan. 3, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be applied to your account for five consecutive disbursements of $1,000 each during the winter 2023, spring 2023, summer 2023, fall 2023, and winter 2024 quarters.
    • If eligibility is not confirmed by Monday, Jan. 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be revoked
  • If you start in fall 2022 quarter:
    • If eligibility is confirmed by Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be applied to your account for five consecutive disbursements of $1,000 each during the fall 2022, winter 2023, spring 2023, summer 2023, and fall 2023 quarters.
    • If eligibility is confirmed between Monday, Oct. 3, 2022–Monday, Jan. 3, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be applied to your account for five consecutive disbursements of $1,000 each during the winter 2023, spring 2023, summer 2023, fall 2023, and winter 2024 quarters.
    • If eligibility is confirmed between Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2023–Sunday, April 3, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be applied to your account for five consecutive disbursements of $1,000 each during the spring 2023, summer 2023, fall 2023, winter 2024, and spring 2024 quarters.
    • If eligibility is not confirmed by Sunday, April 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, the offer will be revoked
  • If you do not register for or drop all courses during a quarter where the offer is disbursed, you forfeit the disbursement for that quarter.
  • No refund will be issued on unused offer disbursements due to graduating early.
  • No refund will be issued on unused offer disbursements if you reach tuition-free quarter(s) where the graduation fund credits are being redeemed and no tuition is charged.
  • This offer may be combined with corporate alliance/national account discounts.
  • This offer may be combined with the Graduation Fund. 
  • This offer may be combined with the laptop offer.
  • If you take three or more consecutive quarters off, you will forfeit any remaining disbursements and any benefits associated.
  • You meet Strayer University admission requirements.

  • You must maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.0 or greater for undergraduate programs). In any quarter following the quarter where a student fails to maintain good academic standing, disbursements will be forfeited until the student returns to good academic standing.
  • If you choose to change to an ineligible program, discontinue or withdraw (either actively or administratively) from Strayer, you will become ineligible for this offer. 
  • If you drop or withdraw from a course, you will be responsible for any fees associated with change in enrollment status for that quarter.  
  • Under no circumstance will recipients be eligible for a refund, cash payment or any other compensation for the value of unused funds from the offer.
  • If your tuition is billed to an employer or sponsor, the offer is applied first to tuition charges and then the sponsor is billed the net tuition amount (to the extent tuition benefits are available.) 
  • In all cases, the offer is at Strayer University’s discretion.

The offer will reduce your tuition balance and may decrease the amount of financial aid funds available. Please be aware that your offer will be revoked if you fail to meet the requirements outlined above.
